Our Mission & Goals

Our team goals for the season focus on three main pillars: Innovation, Sustainability, and Outreach.

Technical Innovation: To build a robust, reliable robot that integrates advanced software controls with custom-fabricated hardware. We aim to push the boundaries of what's possible with the standard FTC kit by incorporating custom CNC and 3D printed parts.

Sustainable Growth: As a team spanning grades 7 through 9, we are committed to knowledge transfer. Our older members mentor the younger ones, ensuring that skills in Java programming, CAD design, and mechanical engineering are passed down to sustain the team's future performance.

Community Outreach: We strive to spread the message of STEM in our community. Through demonstrations and workshops, we want to inspire other students to explore robotics and engineering. We believe that technology should be accessible to everyone.

Scientific Goals

Autonomous reliability

Achieve >90% consistency in autonomous block placement using PID control loops.

Drivetrain Efficiency

Minimize friction loss by using bearing-supported shafts and proper chain tensioning.

Sensor Fusion

Integrate IMU and Odometry for precise field localization.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

  • Diverse skill sets across 7th-9th grades.
  • Strong mentorship from alumni and professionals.
  • Access to advanced fabrication tools (CNC, 3D Printing).
  • Dedicated workspace at Satya School.

Weaknesses

  • Limited competition experience for new 7th graders.
  • Time management constraints due to academic pressure.
  • Budget limitations for high-end sensors.

Opportunities

  • Expanding outreach to local government schools.
  • Collaborating with other FTC teams for scrimmages.
  • Securing new corporate sponsorships.

Threats

  • Supply chain delays for parts.
  • Unexpected hardware failures during matches.
  • Rising costs of travel and registration.

Sustainability

Recruitment

We actively recruit from the middle school student body through 'Robot Demo Days' and STEM workshops. Interested students undergo a training camp before joining the core team.

Funding

Our budget is primarily supported by Satya School, with additional funding from corporate partners like Steam Varsity. We allocate funds strictly: 60% Robot, 20% Outreach, 20% Logistics.

Mentorship

Our unique 'Buddy System' pairs a senior member (9th grade) with a junior member (7th grade) to ensure knowledge transfer in CAD, Java, and Mechanical fabrication.
